Denmark-based brand Wood Wood has collaborated with adidas to
release a new take on the popular adidas Ultra Boost.
Taking a very conceptual route for this project, the
Copenhagen-based label ideated around the Big Bang model, more specifically
gravitational waves that followed the Big Bang event, which were first detected
as late as 2014. The waves were initially depicted and shared in the scientific
community through a chart showing line segments intersected by shaded areas of
orange and blue, and this chart served as the inspiration for the Wood Wood
team. Most recently, scientists at LIGO in Washington state and Louisiana
documented the existence of gravitational waves, confirming Einstein’s
theory of relativity.
The Ultra Boost collaboration manifested with alternating blue
and orange color highlights found on the heel tab of both versions, while the
men’s version features a standard lace closure, and the women’s iteration is
fitted with an elastic mid-panel creating a slip-on style.
The sneaker is now available at selected retailers.
