adidas Originals Relaunches Crazy with Two New Styles

adidas Originals celebrates the relaunch of an iconic ‘90’s mid cut basketball silhouette Crazy, with the release of two new styles. Inspired by the clash of 90’s culture and its provocative, futuristic design, the re-release of Crazy is an unexpected take on a classic style for a new generation. To complement the audacious and bold look of the sneaker, a campaign featuring 21 Savage, Playboi Carti and Young Thug, captures the defiantly unhumble and uncompromising spirit of the shoe.

Crazy challenges humility as a barrier to creativity. In a campaign that boasts bold graphics and projects the daring, fearless spirit of the footwear, the images complement the unrelenting attitude of both the talent and the footwear styles.

Individually each rapper possesses a strong sense of style, fearlessness and confidence. As a group, these three young audacious rappers symbolize an un-humble attitude.

Retaining the Crazy ADV’s distinctive, futuristic design, the latest release sees the shoe rendered in premium nubuck across the upper, with a premium sockfit neoprene interior for optimum fit and a minimalist concealed lacing system. This is then placed atop a dual-density PU tooling with branding details in the midsole and outsole. The result is a razor-sharp modern reinvention of a basketball icon that transcends boundaries of footwear design.

The Crazy 8 ADV PK refines the Crazy 8’s aggressive silhouette, featuring a full Primeknit construction across the upper with distinctive textured stripes and vacuum-coated structural overlays. A simple concealed lacing system completes the design, accented by the shoe’s distinctive jagged tooling, complete with open windows creating subtle visual contrast.

The adidas Originals Crazy Pack drops on 23 November and will be available from adidas Originals stores, adidas.co.za and selected retailers.

First Look: Breaker Knit Sunfaded. Court Icon Meets Progressive Styling

PUMA further enriches its streetwear offerings with the introduction of the all-new Breaker. Breaking the mould and entering new territory, the sneaker takes design cues from the iconic court silhouette, the PUMA Suede, advancing the style with a new tooling.

PUMA escapes from the trend of keeping classic court sneaker and progressive silhouettes separate with the new Breaker. Keeping the features of the archive court style, the Breaker is refreshed with a bold new look. Its contemporary style draws inspiration from ‘80s counterculture of the New York and London punk scene. The provocative styling of the subculture has since become a huge influencer of modern fashion and streetwear, boasting aggressive dimensions, elevated platform outsoles and much more. Drawing upon punk-inspired aggressive dimensions, the Breaker takes cues from brutalist architectural elements with its stark oversized tooling.

First to drop in the range is the Breaker Knit Sunfaded. The new silhouette boasts a fully knitted sock-like upper, complimented with premium Nubuck leather side panels and a hidden lacing construction for ultimate comfort and sleek styling. We can expect to see much more from the Breaker, with the next-level Breaker Mesh joining the product offering soon.

First Look: adidas Collective Memories Release

True to the adidas Originals belief that ‘past empowers the future’, the brand has taken that statement quite literally and created a women’s head to toe look, for the archival inspired Collective Memories release.

To celebrate Originals collective memories, they dug deep into their graphics archive to discover and reveal something special. Iconic graphics from catalogues and calendars between the 1960’s and 1995 were chosen to convey inspiring stories from the past. For this pack, bold and colourful illustrations, from which key elements were identified and blown up, have been applied in an all over graphic to modern apparel and paired with authentic three-stripes 70’s inspired footwear.

On the apparel side late-'80s attitude and contemporary style meet in a turtleneck dress. Its vivid design is inspired by archival print ads, showing off a retro allover graphic. Bold hues of pink and green or purple and green flourish as a backdrop for the mottoes "I want" and "I can" superimposed on the front and back of the two key dresses. The adidas Originals flag label at the bottom signs off the look.

In footwear, the original Dragon trainers have evolved over the years from a celebrated runner to a streetwear favourite. Reintroducing the '70s archival style with modern appeal, the Flashback sneaker is built with a closed mesh upper and an aquatech print toe overlay. An EVA wedge midsole and the sawtooth rubber outsole pay homage to the original pair. The Flashback Mid honors adidas design heritage while looking forward to the future. These sneakers are built with a mesh and suede upper with a waterproof finish for wear in any weather. They feature a refined, mid-height collar, modern lace construction and a webbing heel pull.
