First Look: adidas Originals Prophere

A brand new silhouette for 2018, adidas Originals introduces the second drop of Prophere in subtle color pops of all over core black, khaki, olive, teal and white maintaining the disruptive feel of the silhouette and creating a military feel.

Designed for everyday use with an aesthetic set to turn heads, the Prophere strips 3-stripe design language to its core before amplifying each element.

A one-piece, soft knit upper forms the base of the shoe, structured by an enlarged 3-stripe mark that acts as the shoe’s lacing system, finished with a structural heel cage and reinforced tongue. This is then placed atop an aggressive midsole with fluid lines and dynamic texture, whilst embroidered details across the shoe’s medial side add a final hit to the shoe’s distinctive design.

Prophere will drop on 1 March 2018 at a retail price of R1899 and will be available at adidas Originals stores, select retailers and www.adidas.co.za

First Look: Nike Air Max 270

The Air Max 270 is Nike’s first ever lifestyle silo arrives as part of the Air Max Day 2018 celebrations. Arriving in Light Bone, and Black/White colourways, the sneak boasts the biggest heel bag across the retailer’s entire Air Max series.

Inspired by its 93 and 180 counterparts, the Air Max 270 is aptly named, donning a 270-degree Air Unit below the heel. As the name would suggest, this shoe puts all emphasis on that 270-degree cushioning underfoot. If it wasn’t eye-catching enough, the pack features a splash of colour on the air bubble which contrasts against an all-black or all-off-white midsole and upper.

This pack features in a deep shade of black, or a refreshing burst of light bone, covering everything in sight from the laces to sidewall Swoosh branding. Sections of neoprene add more support and some water-proof protection against the elements.

The Air Max 270 will drop on Friday, 2 March 2018, at selected retailers.

First Look: Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 574 'Tassie Devil'

New Balance have resurrected four classic colab colourways to celebrate 30 years of the 574, and Sneaker Freaker's Tassie tribute is leading the charge.

Done in a shades of Purple and Black using a suede and mesh construction, standout features on the shoe include speckling on the midsole, the shark-tooth design (also on midsole) that comes in light Lavender, custom insoles that come with Sneaker Freaker branding as well as a Tasmanian Devil printed on both shoes.

The Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 574 'Tassie Devil' will drop on Thursday, 1 March 2018.

First Look: Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu Trail Blank Canvas Collection

With this new collection of adidas Originals, Pharrell was inspired by the Hindu festival Holi, a spring celebration that pays homage to peace, love and equality.

Soft Primeknit covers the upper in a light shade of cream. Unlike the more colourful ‘Trail’ iterations of last year, this pair opts for a muted and understated look. Hindu letters are printed to one foot whilst the other features the word, “WORLD”. This remains discreet thanks to the white colourway. A set of white speckled laces continues the understated theme on the Pharrell Williams NMD Hu White. The same applies for the clean BOOST midsole underfoot. Promising the best in lightweight cushioning, this is made even more robust with those tonal EVA plugs. A newly engineered trail outsole is chunkier than ever before

PUMA and Naturel Partner for Season Two

PUMA and Naturel are back with the collaboration’s second season.

While focusing on Naturel’s iconic art form, the collection raises the bar of streetwear design. The collection features more abstract, standalone graphics true to Naturel’s style, mixed with PUMA classic and progressive silhouettes. Featuring futuristic, angular skeleton graphics on both key footwear and apparel.

Both drops draw inspiration from the X-Ray with Naturel’s iconic graphic DNA applied in skeleton format, boasting contrasting colour palettes. The first drop features black and red hues, while the second drop takes on silver birch and olive green.

Hero sneaker styles include the progressive TSUGI evoKNIT Sock NATUREL and classic court silhouette the Suede NATUREL. All footwear pieces feature a translucent outsole revealing a skeleton foot graphic.

The collection is set to release in two drops with the first hitting stores on Saturday, 24 February followed by the second drop in April 2018. The sought-after collection will be available to purchase at PUMA SELECT and selected retailers.

This all-black Air Force 1 showcases a refined and simplistic aesthetic which puts all emphasis on that sidewall Swoosh. You’ll find a set of different coloured overlays in the box which can be attached and easily removed thanks to a Velcro layer. Classic Air Force 1 branding is also stamped to the tongue as well as the midsole underfoot.
