First Look: PUMA Mirage Mox

PUMA is adding the Mirage Mox to its newest product franchise: Mirage, a growing selection of Futro styles and a mashup of retro sneakers with futuristic inspiration. Mirage Mox takes design cues from the '90s running shoe and transforms them for today’s sneakerheads.

The Mirage has been in the PUMA family for close to half a century, first introduced as a lightweight track and field shoe and then reissued as a jogging shoe in the 1990s with a die-cut eva midsole.

With a revamped design that brings new perspective to street style, the Mirage Mox is inspired by the world of electronic music and DJs with trippy, bright accents of colour, eye-catching layers of materials, a unique TPU piece in the heel and futuristic elements. The iconic overlay on the forefoot is a direct link back to the Mirage OG and pays homage to the shoe's history.

The Mirage Mox retails R2 299, Mirage Mox and is available on PUMA.com and at PUMA Select stores and select retailers.

Check out the Super Mario 3D All-Stars Collection by PUMA

Created to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, the latest drop features iconic Super Mario game colours, graphics and fan-favorite characters throughout.

The inspiration for this unisex footwear and apparel collection comes from the Super Mario 3D All-Stars™ game featuring three of Mario’s greatest adventures: Super Mario 64™, Super Mario Sunshine™ and Super Mario Galaxy™.

The design of the Future Rider Super Mario 64 (R1 999) takes nods from Super Mario’s first 3D adventure and his recognizable red and blue outfit, Wing Cap and the game’s landscape colour palette. Additional details include a set of bricks on the midsole, a wing embellishment on the heel and a Super Mario 64 hangtag.

The Future Rider Super Mario 64 as well as the Nintendo Knit Short (R1 499), Nintendo Tee (R799), Nintendo LS Tee (R999) and AOP Nintendo Hoodie (R1 999) is available from PUMA.com and at PUMA Select.

In 2007, Super Mario Galaxy took Mario out of this world and transported him into deep space. Also dropping on 27 November 2020 at PUMA Select and PUMA.com, the RS-Fast Super Mario Galaxy (R2 899) has a black, purple, white and metallic silver colour palette with a galactic print. Mario’s sidekick, Luma, is clearly noticeable throughout the design.

Dropping on 4 December, the Future Rider Nintendo Entertainment System™ (R2 499) shoe pays homage to Nintendo’s original console. The grey, red and black colour scheme is a direct nod to the system’s design and the tag on the shoe’s tongue features the cover of the first-ever Super Mario Bros. game. Other fun embellishments include the Power and Reset buttons and a hangtag shaped like the Classic NES™ Controller. Available from PUMA.com and at PUMA Select and Shelflife, as well as in kids (R1 999) and infant (R1 499) sizes at PUMA Select and PUMA.com.

Although not available in South Africa, the collection also features an updated take on the PUMA Clyde and a version of J. Cole’s signature basketball shoe: the RS-Dreamer.
