First Look: Nike ISPA Drifter Split

Eclectic in its appearance, the silhouette effectively makes use of past icons for reference, namely the oft-forgotten Air Rift.

Its iconic split toe is paraded atop the toe box with a near-identical mesh construction and miniature check, though with more functional inclusions that bridge workwear influence.

Straps are scattered about the entire shoe, supporting the forefoot as it does the side while also providing cosmetic use with its blue-tinted 'ISPA' insignia.

Nylon Ripstop outfits the rest of the upper’s fabrication with reflective dots, tongues add lace toggles for easy fastening, and the sole — whose tread is rife with non-slip rubber — brings along ornamental yellow heel stabilizers and foam-like molds. Each pair is also accompanied by its own pair own split-toe Nike ISPA socks.

The Nike ISPA Drifter Split drops in two colourways on 1 September.

First Look: PUMA X MR.DOODLE: A Next Level Collab

PUMA and Mr. Doodle have partnered to create one of the most vibrant and playful collections of unisex footwear, apparel and accessories.

PUMA has entered the universe of Mr.Doodle to explore it together. PUMA logos and graphics embrace the hand-drawn doodle style as the Mr.Doodle characters discover the world of sports. With hidden messages and details throughout the design, this collaboration features mostly black and white pieces and some hints of orange, purple and lavender.

Sam Cox, an English artist better known as Mr.Doodle, discovered his love of scribbling and doodling at an early age. What started out as usual childhood scribbles on everything from schoolbooks to his parents’ furniture has since evolved into a successful career and an entirely new universe dubbed DoodleWorld. His doodling is often described as “Graffiti Spaghetti”, as his characters and patterns look like they are exploding out of the canvas.

The RS-2K (R2 299), Cali Wedge (R1 899), Leadcat 20 (R899) and Mile Rider (R1 899) are given a playful look for the PUMA X Mr.Doodle collection. The RS-2K X Mr.Doodle features embellishments like asymmetric lacing, doodles on the midsole, and a doodle arrow below the laces. The Mile Rider X Mr.Doodle features a sporty mesh upper with colourful overlays and doodle graphics on the midsole.

The apparel in the collection includes a wide range of clothing for both men and women. The PUMA x Mr.Doodle Reversable Coach Jacket (R2 699) is one of the most unique pieces in the collection; it can be worn as a plain black jacket with small doodle embellishments or reversed to become a statement piece with an all-over print of sport-inspired doodles.

The collaboration also features the PUMA x MR DOODLE AOP Hoodie (R1 699), AOP Leggings (R999), Cropped Tee (R599), Tee (R549), MCS Track Jacket (R1 499) and Pants (R2 499). Accessories include the PUMA x MR DOODLE Cap (R399) and Waistbag (R699).

PUMA x Mr. Doodle drops on PUMA.com and at PUMA Select Cape Town and Braamfontein and selected retailers on 22 August 2020.

First Look: The Pretty Pink Collection From PUMA

PUMA dropped the brazen Pretty Pink Collection of women’s footwear, apparel and accessories with iridescent details paired with pink-on-pink and disruptive designs.

The Cali Wedge (R1 699), Deva (R1 699), RS-X3 (R1 999), Rise (R1 699) and Future Rider (R1 599), some of the most popular women’s silhouettes from PUMA, are boldly reimagined for this collection. Details include hot pink, high gloss synthetic uppers and midsoles with fluffy textile accents.

The Cali Wedge stays true to its extreme, wedge sole while the classic RS design of the RS-X3 is taken to an extra, thrice-exaggerated form by stripping the silhouette down to the basics then building it up with stronger material mixes and colours. The Deva is an elevated sport-fashion silhouette inspired by rebellious punk attitude and chunky, oversized streetwear shoes seen in Tokyo. It plays with height and materials to create a totally new look: the top line tooling is a sneaker while the sole is high fashion.

Pulling from the worlds of heritage running and forward-thinking style, the slim, highly engineered silhouette of the Rise is inspired by clouds with soft, opulent lines and an oh so comfortable construction. Design details include signature RS technology and a semi-translucent upper cage.

Born in 1980, the Fast Rider launched when running moved from the track to the street, becoming one of our most comfortable and simplistic icons to feature the shock-absorbing PUMA ‘Federbein’ outsole. This classic shoe has revamped to become the Future Rider, featuring a slim Federbein outsole and ultra-comfortable Rider Foam midsole.

The Pretty Pink Collection features the Evide Woven Track Jacket (R1 499) and Track Pants (R1 299) featuring water repellent fabric and a hot pink colourway with white accents. The perfect pairing to any outfit, the collection’s accessories include a hot pink Prime Time Drawstring Backpack (R799) and Prime Time Backpack (R999).

The Pretty Pink collection is available at PUMA.com, PUMA Stores, and selected retailers. The Pretty Pink Rise and Future Rider will be dropping later this month.
